TV Frames
Can televisions and fireplaces get along?
The battle is as old as the television itself. Which should be the focal point of the family room: the television or the fireplace?
The perfect solution would be to install the television above the fireplace. Unfortunately, some television purists insist on lower placement for the best viewing experience. Traditionally, installing the television higher than eye-level was thought to result in neck strain and less-than-ideal viewing performance. However, as technology has improved, so have the television viewing perspectives, overcoming these concerns.
Installing your flat panel television over your fireplace has been the perfect compromise in many of our customer’s homes. When the lady of the house and/or her designer objects to the look of a TV hanging over the fireplace or when the man of the house is concerned that he won’t be able to get the kind of audio performance that he desires from his home theater system we offer the following solutions.
On the decorative side, we offer a wide variety of designer TV frames that are available in many traditional and contemporary styles and finishes. Many of these decorative frame systems include retractable artwork and/or one-way mirrors to conceal the TV screen.
On the performance side, we can hide speakers within the TV framing itself or design a custom frame that complements the room and/or fireplace architecture. These custom frames can create the space to conceal “high performance” speakers without compromising the finer design elements of the room.”
